App Store & Google Play screenshot sizes, settled.

Every pixel dimension the stores actually accept in 2026 — in one table, with the gotchas that cause first-upload rejections. Bookmark it, or skip the bookkeeping and let ShotCanvas render every size automatically.

Apple App Store sizes

Apple organizes screenshots by display size. Since iOS 18-era App Store Connect, the 6.9" iPhone slot is the only required iPhone size — Apple scales it down for smaller devices unless you upload size-specific sets. iPad has its own required slot if your app runs on iPad.

iPhone 5.5"1242 × 2208OptionalHome-button era iPhones
iPad 13"2048 × 2732Required for iPad appsiPad Pro 12.9/13"
Gotchas: PNG or high-quality JPEG, RGB, no alpha transparency, no rounded-corner cutouts, between 1 and 10 screenshots per slot. Landscape variants (e.g. 2868 × 1320) are accepted but portrait converts better for most categories.

Google Play sizes

Google Play is looser — it accepts a range — but these are the dimensions that look sharp on modern devices and pass every validation:

SlotPixels (portrait)StatusNotes
Phone1080 × 1920Required (min 2 shots)16:9 — the safe default
7" Tablet1200 × 1920OptionalNeeded for tablet badge
10" Tablet1600 × 2560OptionalNeeded for tablet badge
Gotchas: JPEG or 24-bit PNG (no alpha), each side between 320 px and 3840 px, max 8 MB per image, 2–8 screenshots per device type. You also need a 1024 × 500 feature graphic for some placements.
